Learning from the Lakers

ABSTRACT
The AIA Minnesota housing committee is a custom single family
focused group that has been extremely successful in promoting the
services of architects for custom residential design. Using the
chapters fall home tour event as a catalyst, CRAN will
assemble 15-20 residential architects interested adapting the
promotion techniques employed by AIA Minnesota and other active
components to their local chapter.
AIA funding is available to subsidize the cost of attendance for
10-12 participants. Prospective attendees must complete a brief
application and statement of purpose in order to qualify for the
travel and lodging stipend of $500.

GOALS
Learn how to start and sustain a local Custom Residential
Knowledge Community using the experience of AIA Minneapolis and
other successful Chapters as a springboard.
Gain direct exposure to best practices for promoting custom
residential architecture at a local level by participating in the
AIA Minnesota home tour.
Develop a community of regional leaders in order to create a
support structure for further collaboration.
Learn how to access and implement CRAN tools at the local
level.
Learn to contribute local best practices, project profiles
and other information to the national CRAN knowledge base.
