Forum on Health Environments
Research
At the forum's first meeting, Tib Tusler, FAIA, FACHA,
presented the findings of studies completed by the Coalition for
Health Environments Research (CHER). The goal of the forum is to
encourage office-based research, postoccupancy evaluations and
results reporting, and new research for the CHER agenda.

Overview
Bill Sheely, AIA, ACHA, summarizes each session
of the workshop on health facility planning and programming
presented by the American College of Healthcare Architects
(ACHA). Sessions focused on the initial and critical phases of a
healthcare project, with particular attention to strategic planning
and workload analysis; a functional space programming process; a
nurse's perspective of the planning process; bridging between
the strategic plan/program/operational workflow and the design; and
a budgets and schedules overview.
